Behind the Butterflies
I don’t know if you know me, but my name is Lucas Bright
I only read those blogs I think are better than alright.
If a blog’s not cool, well I’m no fool, I skim it and get wise.
But I’ve always time to open up my eyes for Butterflies.
Kool Aid is the Mom MC – married to her husband, Trey.
They’ve been married for ten years, but it still gets better every day.
Kool Aid is a mom at home, and yet she’s always running around,
Her body bound to motion, soon as her two feet hit the ground.
Kool Aid’s girl is six years old and her little boy is three.
Monkey’s her girl, Little man the boy – both cute as they could be.
She works down at the YMCA, making murals and jewelry too.
All those kids are lucky – I bet you’re wishing it was you.
She’s active in her church and loves to kick it with her friends.
At least that’s what I’ve gathered from reading this blog’s looser ends.
A blog’s a brilliant showcase showing things we like to do
Kool-Aid’s is no different, so I’ll list a few for you.
She likes photography, scrapbooking and reading (that’s for sure).
She prefers mysteries and thrillers. Stephen King’s always got her cure.
Music, painting, hiking, boating, rock climbing – yes, the list is long.
Though she hasn’t done as much since her two wee ones came along.
I know you’re probably looking at this list in all its niceness
Well chocolate and red wine are also two of Kool Aid’s vices.
She loves her husband and her kids, her writing makes that clear
And she gets a big high five for home-schooling Monkey without fear.
Little Man makes her laugh and laugh; he’s such an awesome kid.
No doubt some of the finest work that Kool Aid ever did.
When she grows up, Kool Aid hopes she can one day be a vet.
It’s awesome that she knows the best stuff hasn’t happened yet.
(A special Thank You goes out to Sean Platt who penned this for me as part of my winning a writing contest over at Collective Inkwell. Sean Platt is a dad and ghostwriter for hire who also tweets. Thanks, Kool Aid)
